Professorship of Modern Architectual Heritage at the Technical University of Munich/TUM School of Engineering and Design

Since 2018: Professor of Modern Architectural Heritage at the Technical University of Munich.

His research on recording and preserving the more recent building heritage is funded by the DFG, the DBU, the BBSR (ZukunftBau) and the Wüstenrot Foundation, among others.

After working at the TU Dresden and the University of Edinburgh, he completed his studies in architecture at the ETH Zurich, where he also received his doctorate in 2015. 

As an architect, Prof. Putz was responsible for the conversion of Erich Mendelsohn’s former Schocken department store in Chemnitz.

He is a member of the German National Committee of ICOMOS, the Koldewey Society and the board of the Working Group on Theory and Teaching of Monument Preservation (AKTLD).
